What Are the Priest Talent Trees in WoW Forever?
The generated leveling route is Shadow with two Discipline points in Power in Light. Shadowform requires Vampiric Embrace 1, Improved Mind Flay requires Mind Flay 1, and Soul Warding requires Improved Power Word: Shield 3. Choose Holy for healing or Discipline for shield/support planning instead of treating Shadow as a universal answer.

Discipline

It also holds several instant-cast and Holy-damage hybrids that do not belong to the pure healing plan. Holy
Holy is the direct and group healing plan. Divine Fury 5 gates Searing Light, and Spirit of Redemption 1 gates Prayer of Mending. Litany of Light rewards alternating healing spells, so the tree is not just a Classic copy with renamed ranks. Direct prerequisite gates- Spirit of Redemption — No direct talent prerequisite; only the row gate applies. Row 5; maximum rank 1.

Shadow

Spirit Tap and Vampiric Embrace are the sustain pieces to check before spending heavily on top-row damage. What Changed for Priest Talents vs Classic?
- Penance is new in Discipline and gates Power Infusion. Soul Warding requires Improved Power Word: Shield 3, and Renewed Hope requires Soul Warding 1.
- Shadow adds Improved Mind Flay, Dark Inspiration and Devouring Contagion. Shadowform still requires Vampiric Embrace 1.
- Improved Vampiric Embrace is absent. Holy instead loses Lightwell and Improved Prayer of Healing; Litany of Light and Prayer of Mending are new tools in this snapshot.

Can I level a Priest outside Shadow?
Yes. Holy and Discipline remain legal trees, and Discipline now includes Penance and several damage/healing hybrids. The page’s generated starting route chooses Shadow because its scoring favors damage and self-sustain, not because the other trees are unavailable. Use the class calculator to build a healing or shield plan without changing the ruleset.
Is Penance the same rank as the beta version?
Use the rank text on the current 1.60.1.70790 snapshot, not an older beta guide. The current Penance entry lists 42 Holy damage or 126 healing instantly and every second for two seconds. The changelog records when the site imported the new data; the talent reference is the authoritative rank-by-rank view.
Which talents gate Shadowform and Power Infusion for a Priest?
Shadowform requires Vampiric Embrace 1, and Improved Mind Flay requires Mind Flay 1. In Discipline, Penance 1 gates Power Infusion, while Soul Warding requires Improved Power Word: Shield 3. The generated Shadow route also spends two points in Discipline on Power in Light.
